First metres of the home

The cupboard behind the front door must hold winter coats, guest jackets, shoes for four people, and still leave a path for a bicycle wheel or Kinderwagen. We plan those first metres so mornings feel ordered rather than excavated.
Coat, bag, and shoe layers
We separate daily outerwear from seasonal storage. Active coats hang at adult and child heights; off-season pieces move up or to the Keller. School bags get a drop zone with floor clearance so mud stays off carpets. Shoe storage uses angled racks or pull-out trays sized for European shoe lengths, with a ventilated shelf for wet boots after rain along the Isar paths.

German cabinetry norms guide door hardware so soft-close hinges survive slamming school mornings.
Shared buildings and landlord limits
Rental flats often restrict drilling in stairwells and entry walls. We favour freestanding tall cupboards, over-door solutions where safe, and tension rails. For owned flats, we can specify built-ins that match adjacent woodwork common in Munich renovations.
